WordPress plugin stopped working

Category

If your visitor IP tracking plugin stopped working suddenly after recording a single or multiple visits, here are the steps that can help fix the issue:

  1. Are you using website cache plugins? If yes, this would be the most likely cause. As soon as a web page becomes cached for quick delivery, it will stop the visitor tracker code from being properly loaded into visitors’ web browsers.

What you will need to do is add an exclusion string to the website tracker to tell the page cache plugins to stop modifying the visitor tracker code. See quick tutorials on how to exclude WordPress content from being cached

  2. Ensure your tracker code is installed properly. If you are using an “invisible tracking” feature, disable it first and ensure that the visitor tracker icon appears on all pages of your website, including desktop and mobile versions of your site. If you do not see the tracker image, then the visitor tracker code is not being properly loaded.

The best location to place the visitor tracker code is in the header or footer. The header would be optimal to ensure that the code is loaded as soon as your website is visited.

When using popular SMS publishing scripts such as WordPress or Joomla, the best way to install the codes would be to use our dedicated plugins for these SMS. Please use our official plugins. Here are the guides and plugin files for

    2. Joomla website tracking module
  3. Are you using the latest versions of WordPress and WordPress the
TraceMyIP plugin? If not, please update to ensure compatibility
  4. If you have placed the TraceMyIP code directly into your template’s header or footer, the code could be removed if you have updated your WordPress template files. You will need to reinstall the code, or better, use the official WordPress plugin.
  5. Have you installed additional plugins that can be defective or otherwise interfering with other plugins on your site? Try deactivating all plugins except the visitor tracking plugin via your WordPress console and see if that resolves the issue. Test the tracking from a different browser (clear the browser cache and disable your own IP blocking to ensure the system can log your visits)
  6. Finally, test your website tracking properly to exclude factors that may be preventing the tracking from working.
