If you are a subscriber with a Level 3 subscription and above and require a downgrade, the procedure will be different depending on the type of a subscription payment used.
Upgrading existing PayPal processed subscriptions to the next level
To upgrade your account that is utilizing PayPal payments, you will need to follow these steps:
- Logout of your TraceMyIP account
- Log in to your PayPal account, locate the original subscription transaction, and cancel the recurring payments. Log out of your PayPal account.
- Wait for up to 20 minutes for PayPal to cancel your subscription and send a notification of cancellation to TraceMyIP
- Login to TraceMyIP account. You will be automatically redirected to a subscription selection page. Proceed with the upgrade. Note that if you are not being redirected, please allow more time for PayPal to finish your current subscription cancellation.
Upgrading existing direct Credit Card processed subscriptions to the next level
If you have paid directly with a credit card without using a third-party processor like PayPal, you can upgrade your account immediately without any additional steps. Go to “My Account > Upgrade Subscription” and complete your subscription selection. Your account will be immediately upgraded to the next selected level.
Note: for faster payment processing and easier upgrade and downgrade procedures, it is recommended to use direct credit card payments.
While using PayPal, TraceMyIP does not have control over the subscriptions, therefore each payment manipulation may produce delays due to PayPal processing delays since PayPal must send remote notifications of each transaction to TraceMyIP. Some of these notifications can incur delays of over an hour.
